"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth"
(Genesis 1:1)
We live in an ever increasingly hostile environment for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The strain placed on ministers of all denominations has increased greatly, with many suffering stress, anxiety and depression. Pastors' Helpline is here as an access to someone who will just listen, comfort and be a place to console and encourage you to continue the walk of faith
Many pastors' find that during difficult times colleagues do not want to listen, or because of their position or situation are unable to help. For many of us it can be a time that we just give up the ministry and quit. Unfortunately some may even give church up completely. That is so sad but it happens.
Often when a church gives its pastor a rough time, it is the pastor that so often can be made to feel that they are the guilty person, by those around them. This is a position that brings guilt and in reality is far from the truth.
Frequently the stress means that our family relationship also suffers. We are here to listen and if we can to help. If writing to us will in some way help you we are here to encourage you.
Our desire is to be a listening ear. We do not give advice as such, but are willing at no charge to be somewhere where ministers can unload issues that affect them, and knowing that there is clear definition of confidentiality. No records are kept and once any help is given all emails and records are destroyed. Sadly also we do not give financial help in anyway.
Paul writes in Hebrews 13 verse 5 "God has said, 'Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.' So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What can man do to me.”
As Christians we are with Christ’s help able to overcome obstacles. Although it may not always be easy, it is possible to climb and see the promised land.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” Joshua 1 verse 9.
